fonseca signed to cruzeiro u-17 when he was 16 and could have stayed for 2 years if he took that option. u-17 division 1 in brazil is a little more competetive then the u.s academy, wouldnt you say? he also got cut in 2005 when he was u-13. the coach was from cuba.

east fishkill might have beaten fcs u18 in region 1, but fc did beat them in a much more important game, the state cup final. also, not to mention, fcs u16s beat the east fishkill u16s 7-0 in the 2nd round of the state cup last year. so i would say overall fcs a much better club.

Watch out for my boy Greg Shaheen, rippin it up in acadamey, when he comes back to HS 25+ goal easy.

Same with josh weiner he playing with 18s, physically he is amazing, and mentally he is know much better then he was a couple years ago, i played club with him for 4 yrs now same with hank.. Hank is going to bucknell and will try to walk on probably. Most of FC 16’s, hiroki, juan chang, Cesar and Jerry ceja cesar got called up to USNT 15s, us 3 CT kids rory me and ryan oconnel

If they did it was not their top team. FC plays in the Development Academy at the U-16 and U-18 level. If you are for real you play on an academy team PERIOD. there are scholarships for thos who cannot afford it on every team in the area.

Go to any FC game U-16 or U18 and you will open up your eyes to the best players in NY and the surrounding counties.

Fonseca—-LOL He got cut from the regular FC team a copule of years ago. Any good mid on any Academy team can cut him up on the field.

Keegan—-30 Goals When and Where? Look at the leader board and look at the points per game of the really great forwards and mids.

josh weiner isn’t bad, him and rubenstein form harrison played cub together for a few years, although rubenstein is a few inches shorter the coaches consistently considered him the better of the two, rubenstein was robbed of his all section honor but in the long run i guess its all right because he robbed byram hills of another sectional title

One things for sure: the infamous Scarlington disease along with Sticky fingers Syndrome were cured throughout the soccer season. Hopefully a certain “Spaniard” can overcome Ballhog syndrome and develop game changinitis by next season.

I’m sure it came down to the greeley goaile and the lakeland goalie for journal news 1st team goalie. What does everyone think of this pick? As far as I’m concerned as an unbiased former coach who did not see either team play this year is that Greely looked like the better def team who gave up less goals. The lakeland goalie is very good and is only a junior. TO me grade should not matter only if it is a tough decision and then you have to look at wins and leadership. If thats the case who does it go to?

Waller is pretty good, and Foci is good too. both from the same league.Rubenstein is good but not great on the ground you also have to look at the quality of the defense. weiner never faced that many shots and its really hard to say he is top of the state. i can’t wait for the controversy that stirs up when the all-stars are released.

East Fishkill beat fc when the game had no meaning. A game that did have meaning was the sate final were fc beat them 3-0. Also the fc academy helps out kids that are good and cant afford it. Also thats why dan from East Fishkill left East Fishkill for fc and won a state cup and a disney cup. Everyone get your facts straight.

I’m pretty sure at least half of the team is playing soccer in college. They are a very good team and all of these new “academy” teams are just something for someone to make some money off of it. The only reason they play for these teams is because they think they will automatically play in college if they join these teams. Which is not the truth.

im pretty sure about 3/4 of the players on the u18 fc westchester academy team has committed to play in a college next year

You do not have to play academy to be good. I have known many kids that have played on super Y teams and stuff like that and it has ruined their soccer playing experience as it is all politics and many parents get to involved in it. I don’t think by paying $3,000+ classifies you as a better soccer player then someone else. What if someone can’t afford to play on an academy team or they just don’t want to play with all the politics. I am pretty sure that doesn’t make them a better person. I would take the East Fishkill Thunder over FC Westchester’s academy team any day.

since the fact that your playing against the best competition in america and having d1 coaches at every single game and scouts for the us national team at some game also…yeah i would say that would probably make you a better player
