Boys: Albertus takes it to Kennedy

Section 1 was dark today except for Albertus and Kennedy because of Rosh Hashanah. Not too many Jewish kids in Catholic school.
Kennedy probably wishes it didn’t have the spotlight to itself. The Gaels lost 5-0 to Albertus in a lopsided game. It was Albertus’s highest output this year and the first time in five games it’s scored more than one goal. Five different kids scored. Willie Tedesco and Nick Costa each had a goal and assist.
The score wasn’t unexpected despite Albertus’s scoring troubles. These are two programs in very different places. Albertus (6-4) is two years off a state championship. With a little tweaking it could be a contender this year. Twelve of 17 Falcons are seniors or juniors. Kennedy (1-6) is the epitome of a rebuild. Only seven of 26 Gaels are juniors or seniors. There are 10 freshmen and nine sophs. To their credit, they hadn’t been shut out since opening day against Rye.
