DaCosta is in the NCAA tourney

November
21

Checked up on Somers product Amanda DaCosta today and found out her Florida State Seminoles are in the NCAA tournament Round of 16. She’s still starting, all 23 games in fact, which is pretty stellar for a freshman. She’s second on the team with eight assists and third with 18 points. How special would it be if she starred on a national champion in her first year of college.

It got me thinking about colleges and where this year’s crop of high school seniors is going. If anyone knows a local kid, boy or girl, that’s playing at the next level please let us know. We keep a list of everyone who commits.

Hey Jake, when will the Journal news all star section be published?

    Jake,
Check out Mike Konicoff, Junior at Boston College. He started all but 3 games since his freshman year.

This season they won the ACC Championship and the ACC Tournament. In the Shampionship game, Mike had the assist on the first goal and the game winner in the final.

They were the number 1 seed in the NCAA Div 1 soccer tournament.

They did lose in the second round to U Mass 2-1. I was at the game. U Mass seserved the win.

Mike played for me at Suffern HS.

Maybe your paper could do an article on his success at BC?
