Girls soccer score update

November
6

My man Jake called to tell me about the goings on up there in beautiful Oneonta. Here’s the latest:

In Class B, Briarcliff led Lansing 2-1 at the half. Liana Cornacchio has both goals for the Bears, who increased their lead with another goal in the second half and are up 3-1.

In Class AA, Greeley led Corning 1-0 midway through the first half on a Becca Kaplan goal. Goals by Taylor Jackson and Sydney Rutman have extended Greeley’s lead to 3-0 at the half.

Both teams are dominating play and it should be only a matter of time before they punctuate these wins and move onto the state regional finals, AKA the state quarterfinals.

Check back here later for more updates.

I know they are in Dutchess County but is Lourdes playing right now in the Class “A” game? If so, can we get a score for that game too.

Jeff GoldJeff Gold reached the the soccer pinnacle when he was 7 years old. As the star of the Irvington Hurricanes, he led his team to a 13-0-2 record, scoring a goal in every game. Jeff didn't improve much and all of the others did. He only scored two goals as a varsity player, and one time, he was called Josh, so only one goal was official. Jeff worked at The Journal News for a year after graduating from Colgate University. He left for three years to work at Newsday, and returned to The Journal News in 2007. READ MORE
