TZ takes down Harrison

October
30

Hey guys I just completed a video report on the game I covered today. Apparently, the TZ players were fired up because I said Harrison could be this year’s version of Tappan Zee, meaning the Huskies flew under the radar all season and could be poised for a great postseason run. Good to know that it takes a few words from a scribe such as myself to get a team even more focused huh? Maybe I should predict I won’t win the Mega Millions lottery.

Anyway, you can check out the report below.

In other news, here’s the scores we have reported as of 8 p.m.  I do know North Salem won on penalty kicks, just don’t have the score at this point. How about No. 10 Scarsdale blanking No. 2 John Jay-East Fishkill. Talk about upsets. What do you guys think of the tournament so far and today’s results?

YEAAA TZ BABY ALL THE WAY!! I HAVE BEEN SAYING IT SINCE DAY 1

  2. Admiral1

My defending champs beat New Rochelle 1-0 in OT. 15th shutout of the season. Beat JJ East Fishkill 2 times by the scores of 3-0 and 1-0. Beat White Plains 4-0. Beat Scarsdale 2-0. Who was picking JJEF vs White Plains in the finals? So much for your predictions.

  3. Cramer

ok so after watching to that video; what really grinds my gears is that you make TZ sound like we got lucky. The truth is we have a much better team then Harrison. They won the 1st game off pure luck because we got lazy(we were winning 2-0 in half time), the second game we were missing key players including sweeper Chris Hollihan who is one of the best in the section. Most of our losses come from being lazy and/or unmotivated or red cards/yellow cards that enable key players to miss games. Funny enough i believe that we have yet to meet a team that can match up to our talent and skill.

“Maybe I should predict I won’t win the Mega Millions lottery.”

    good luck with that one

  4. #24lax

I’m sorry to hear that you would actually use laziness, cards, and unmotivated as excuses to loose games. If thats teh case I don’t know what makes you think that you can just turn it on and off. If this is the mentality that is being demonstrated throughout the season, leadership is obviously an issue. Great teams play consistatnly regardless of the circumstances. Your telling us the direct opposite which means TZ will loose a tough game along the way. I find it hard to believe that your coach preaches this way of thinking as well.

  5. Lil Fred

I agree with #24lax. Really, LAZINESS and CARDS as excuses, SPARE US ALL. Learn to play the game according to the rules and within the spirit of the rules. Your excuses are INVALID.

  6. therealkraemer

yeha well we dont’t care what you think ok, all that is over, sit back and watch

  7. NeverGiveUp

The bottom line is that TZ in the section semi-finals on thursday and MANY other teams are not. You can’t call it luck when a team gets that far two years in a row. As there are on any other team, there are many vital players on TZ who can significantly affect the game. Distractions can hurt even the best teams and TZ just had too many of them this season.

And #24lax… “loose” should be “lose.” I think you ought to be spending a little less time reading the sports blogs and a little more time reading some books.

  8. #24lax

Wow! Someone thinks getting red and yellow cards is simply a “distraction” and it’s okay. Not so! It means the players need lessons related to conduct. Sit back and watch. You won’t win Mega Millions nor win another game.

And NeverGiveUp, “TZ in” should be “TZ is in” so you should go back to grammar school and pick up some writing tips yourself. And keep your snide comments to yourself while you’re at it. This blog is for soccer, not stiffs like you.

  9. Lakeland dad

No one wants to talk about Lakeland, but TZ has to get past them now. We don’t have the scoring punch of last year, but we have a good defense. So keep not talking about us, until we win the section.

  10. CN

    OMG!
Im so mad that clarkstown north lost to Greeley. Greeley should have got buried by us and we should be playing Arlington in the semi-finals. Well what are you gonna do, i just hope that Arlington smacks Greeley. Now that all the good teams are out, except Arlington, I know Arlington is gonna win it all. Arlington vs Greeley, Scarsdale vs Jay(cross river).

  11. Dutchie

#24lax, you don’t know anything about TZ were gonna kill lakeland. cards done affect the skill a player has

  12. Dutchie

nevergiveup only forgot a word and you forgot how to spell so dont talk

  13. Former TZ student

Cramer- Just keep your mouth shut on this one. You are sounding very arrogant. Just how Rod overlooked TZ on the blog lit you guys up, you are right now firing up Lakeland big time.

24Lax- This is not fairytale land. Laziness and cards are reasons teams lose games. Refs can be very inconsistent in giving out cards. Of course the articles in the paper won’t talk about such things because these are students not professional athletes, but we can still talk about them.

And last time I checked this is a sports blog not an English lit class.

  14. soccer fan

Very psyched to see quality teams in the final four in A. Lakeland will have a tough go at TZ, however they are a solid team and have a winning tradition. The Hills will also have a tough one against RYE, who’s playing well, but their team is quality. A final: Lakeland vs Byram

  15. soccerdude

Scarsdale will beat all and win section championship…they are playing some solid soccer now and just beat john jay east fishkill now thell beat cross river and move on to the championship….defense is strong….goaltending is great…and scorers are scoring its a machine that wont be stopped

  16. soccer fan

Scarsdale is going to beat Arlington in the section AA finals….During the season when the two teams met Scarsdale outplayed Arlington but just got unlucky

  17. TZ Dad

TZ obviously not learning their lessons from the cards they have rec’d on the field. Right or wrong you need self control on the field so you don’t put your team in jeapordy. In most cases it has been mental laziness and lack of maturity that the players are showing when receiving the cards. Kudos to the coach and AD for enforcing the cummulative card rule. Lakeland/TZ game should be a classic if TZ continues to play all sides of the field and continue to get good goaltending.

  18. Jaydad

    soccerdude and soccer fan,

Better not look past those John Jay Indians…they’ve been overlooked all season, although I think they enjoy suprising all! John Jay(the REAL one…Cross River)/Arlington final!

  19. j.

its obvious in class AA whos gonna win the section, ita the team that has only lost 1 game in the last year. its a shame no one talks about how good they are.

  20. j.

im sorry i meant to say they had only lost one game in the last 2 years

  21. NeverGiveUp

#24lax… you go me on that one, but you won’t be talking after we beat lakeland tomorrow.

  22. NeverGiveUp

    Christ… I meant got.

  23. soccerfan

JJCR could not even beat a weak Horace Greely team. Scarsdale managed to beat Greely 5-1. JJCR is going to get owned

  24. CN

    soccerfan,
we thought that horace greeley was weak also, clarkstown north beat scrasdale and should have smacked greeley, but greeleys field is one of the many things that were bad in that game, and not to mention the refs who took a goal away from north which would of made the game 2-1 and the player who scored wasn’t offsiedes instead it was a player 15 yards to the left of him who wasn’t in play. Well i just hope that Arlington gives H.greeley a beating tomorrow.

  25. Lakelanf Father

All of the TZ players that I have been hearing about are all junk. Three players on the all section team? PLease. That is just ridiculous, wait and see what my boys to do to you guys on thursday

  26. aj

clarkstown north got lucky against scarsdale.

  27. web

ive got land over tz 3-1, just like 2004.

  28. therealkraemer

    i drive a ford taurus…be intimidated

  29. therealkraemer

Not to mention TZ has the jedi force behind them

  30. therealkraemer

Not to mention the TZ team has the jedi force behind them!!

  31. Frank Ferromosca

I am so depressed allll the time

  32. Frank Ferromosca

    I hate soccer

  33. REEB16

LAKELANFFATHER NEEDS TO GET A LIFE..THE GAME IS ABOUT THE KIDS, NOT YOU. I’M SURE YOUR SON WOULD BE PROUD OF YOUR COMMENTS. I GUESS YOU DO NOT KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT SPORTS, YOU REMAIN HUMBLE AND LAY IT ALL OUT ON THE FIELD. I WONDER IF YOU EVER PLAYED SPORTS??? HMM… I GUESS YOU ARE FROM THE SCHOOL OF MUHAMMED ALI-THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT YOU ARE NOT IN THE FIGHT, YOUR SON IS, AND YOU JUST MADE THE GAME THAT MUCH HARDER FOR HIM TO WIN….SHAME ON YOU….

  34. fajejafkl

If anyone has the score of JJCR vs. Scarsdale please post it.

  35. fka;jfieaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

    Greeley just beat Arlington.

  36. fka;jfieaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

yeah soccerfan… whatever you say JJCR is too underrated they’re a great team and only lost 2 games all year. Scarsdale is great too and itll be a good game, but at least I’m not a biased moron like you.

  37. TZ Parent

I would first like to congratulate Lakeland on a well played game. Good luck in the section finals. I would now like to thank all of the TZ Varsity Soccer players for a very enjoyable and exciting season. Your coach should be very proud of the outstanding effort you exhibited throughout the season. I would also like to thank all the seniors who played their last Varsity game for TZ. Thanks Coach for a wonderful season and all your time and effort. Barring any personal problems, our AD should have been at the game to cheer the team on. Your lack of support showed thoughout the season. Thank you parents for keeping those cheering sections interesting.

  38. Annonymous fan

Guys…....don’t start talking about greeley yet. Keep talking about how bad we are. I mean we did just beat the defending state champs but we must of gotten lucky or something. HEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

  39. ajk

    scardale beats JJCR 1-0

  40. TZ friend

It is unfortunate that a TZ Dad would write in the comments that he did. He is obviously a person that never played or was involved in a sport in his life, because if he had he never would have made those comments. As for our AD he only cared about the football team and their being able to get back into the league for next year. As another blogger asked, where was he for the soccer semi final game today? Other parents heard plenty of trash talk while sitting on the side lines at soccer games. The trash talk was coming from the other teams players but we did not go and call their AD or our AD and start to cry to them like the other poor sports from other teams that we might have beat. It is unfortunate that we have parents that do not help our players, and an AD that does not even try to defend or ask both sides of a story before dolling out a punishment. It is not easy for our kids to play a game with everything that they have stacked against them. (including the refs at times! and I am not trying to make excuses, but sometimes or rather most times it was blatantly obvious!)Most of the parents are very proud of them and the way that they played despite everything that was stacked against them. In my eyes they are champs and beat two good teams before losing to a good team today. They should all hold their heads up high as they are champs in the eyes of many!

  41. just a fan

TZ parents are a drisgrace to soccer, every time I’ve seen them at a game I’ve had to see an official stop the game and warn them about excessive shouting at refereees and players. The expression father like son does apply to TZ, there dads act like to be assholes so their kids play the game like a bunch of animals. Earlier in the blog they used the excuse that they had players out wiht cards, yea they have cards cause they play like animals, recently I’ve seen kids on their team throw racist remakrs around on the field to opposing players, honestly some people need to learn manners its just a fact of life.

  42. SportsFan

No matter what anyone says, TZ played an incredible game today. I honestly think they could have won had luck been on their side. Not only did they score the first goal, to surprise many, but they played good ball with the hornets all game long. My understanding was that TZ was a team known for excessive fouling and taunting, but I definitely saw none of that today. They should not feel at all upset about their loss.

Lakeland is a top-class team. There is no doubt about that. They played very well too. I just feel that TZ had potential to go so much farther. It is a shame.

  43. Da Man

    tz is the best

  44. TZ

Wow not even a congrats on the TZHS Athletic web page saying “Congratulations” to the boys Varsity Soccer team for making it into the semi final round! So I will say it now Congratulations to all of our players!
And to the above post from “just a FAN” you are the one swearing in a blog so you are obviously a real class act and you should also learn the difference between there and their…it’s their dad not there dad.

  45. REEB16

TZ DAD-THE GAME IS OVER, BOTH TEAMS PLAYED GREAT, STOP WITH THE AD WHINING ISSUES. IF YOU FEEL THE AD IS NOT DOING HIS JOB THEN PURSUE IT THROUGH THE PROPER CHANNELS. AD’S ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THE SPORTS AND ATHLETIC PROGRAMS, NOT JUST YOUR SON’S SOCCER TEAM…. I HOPE I SPELLED EVERYTHING CORRECTLY.

  46. REEB16

PS I HEARD THE LAKELAND FIELD HOCKEY COACH HAD TO TELL THE TZ PARENTS TO REFRAIN FROM SWEARING AT THE OFFICIALS DURING THE GAME…HMM!!!
