Watch the talking head Part 33 1/3

October
23

First let me apologize to everyone for no posts in the last three days. I was enjoying a little time off, so that is why I have yet to respond to any comments directed toward me. I will get to them tomorrow. I promise. Hope you guys don’t hate me.

In the meantime, here’s something to feat on. Here is my final regular season report on NewsCenter Now. I spoke with anchor Ben Sosenko about the upcoming playoff picture and wish I was able to get more in, but you know how it is with TV. I actually mentioned John Jay and Greeley as teams to look for in Class AA and Lakeland, Keio and surprising Harrison as teams to keep an eye on in Class A as well. But it was edited out due to time constraints. So to all those teams don’t think I forgot about you.

Just click on the screen below. And yes, I have a cold by the way so don’t make fun of my voice.

hey this is Arturo Barajas from new Rochelle high school and i just thought that we are also a candidate. You seen us play a good game and i think we can compete with anyone. Also i was wondering if you knew who we play in the first round.

    Arturo,

Truthfully, there are plenty of teams that can contend and you guys are no different. I’m not going to act as if I’m the authority. It’s anyone’s guess, really. As any coach or player really understands, you can’t predict the playoffs.

As for whom you guys are going to see in the first round, although I minored in math, I’m not going to act as if I know whom will play whom. There’s way too many variables. We’ll know tomorrow after the seeding meetings.

    Whats the leagues?

Is Bronxville with Schecter and Tuckahoe, DF, hamilton? If not who wins that league? SS, Tuckahoe, DF, hamilton?

  4. Cramer

LEAGUES? you guys are missing TAPPAN ZEE!! we have 3 of the best players in the section in joey missale chris hollihan and martin spencer and we are led by a amazing starting lineup and coached by Nick Megdanis and Simon Daly. Get ready for TZ to take over sections! We tied keo (which we should have beaten) and we are about to go beat harrison

    Max,

No, Bronxville is not in the same league as Hamilton, Schechter, Tuckahoe and Dobbs Ferry. There are a few games not reported, so when I go to the seeding meeting tonight I will get the league winners for you.

greely? they arent bad, but watch out for them in sectionals? they havent beaten many top teams this year… i dont think they have any chance matching up with arlington suffern or jjef or even the wp, new ro, scarsdale trio … they are a decent team, but i dont think a contender

  7. soccerfan

I really dont think that greely is a team to look out for…they play in a very weak league and were beaten badly by Scarsdale and even lost to Port Chester..a Class A team. Greely is just overrated

Jeff GoldJeff Gold reached the the soccer pinnacle when he was 7 years old. As the star of the Irvington Hurricanes, he led his team to a 13-0-2 record, scoring a goal in every game. Jeff didn't improve much and all of the others did. He only scored two goals as a varsity player, and one time, he was called Josh, so only one goal was official. Jeff worked at The Journal News for a year after graduating from Colgate University. He left for three years to work at Newsday, and returned to The Journal News in 2007. READ MORE
