October

Byram Hills, come on down. The Bobcats are the latest winner in the “Poll is Right.”

tjndc5-5gmgz35gvhu1ka8ljp1j_layout.jpgOK, so I’m no Bob Barker or Drew Carey for that matter. But you guys made your voice heard with out Class A poll, which began on Sept. 25. I’d like to thank all 144 of you who voted. I appreciate you showing a little love to the blog. Although I can say I haven’t been able to get out and watch Lakeland or Keio yet this season, I can’t say that I disagree with the people’s assesment.

Here’s the actual results:

Additionally, I’m working on a comprehensive blog post about the upcoming sectional tournament, which believe it or not, begins nest weekend. So you guys can look forward to that. Meanwhile, chew on these latest poll numbers and offer your thoughts. Also, I’ve created a new poll for Class B and we’ll get to Class C next week.

    Guys,

I will have to take a look at the team’s records in Class B, but here is the formula so you can play along at home. Only one of the three criterium needs to be meet to qualify.

    1. Win 40 percent of overall games (Ie: You go 4-6, you’re in)
    2. Win 50 percent of class games (ie: you play in a Class B/C league and beat at least half of the teams in your class on yor schedule, you’re in)
    3. Win 50 percent of all class and above your class record. (ie: Class B school is 5-7 in Class B, 1-0 in Class A and, and 1-0 in Class AA. Combined record is 7-7, so you’re in).

    Rod,

    Sorry but 4-10 won’t do it it’s only 28%.

  5. West

Hey.. i am just wondering will you be showing up to the Mt. Pleasant Cup on the 20th. Its going to be a good game!!

    Soccerbum,

I meant to say win 4 out of 10 games, so that is my bad. Funny, you probably would’ve never though I minored in math, huh? Sure you don’t want to be an editor because that was a good catch.

Jeff GoldJeff Gold reached the the soccer pinnacle when he was 7 years old. As the star of the Irvington Hurricanes, he led his team to a 13-0-2 record, scoring a goal in every game. Jeff didn't improve much and all of the others did. He only scored two goals as a varsity player, and one time, he was called Josh, so only one goal was official. Jeff worked at The Journal News for a year after graduating from Colgate University. He left for three years to work at Newsday, and returned to The Journal News in 2007. READ MORE
